John Calder presents
The Godot Company

The Godot Company...is doing something different!

The Godot Company is a company of actors who came together with John Calder – Beckett’s principal publisher and actor, Peter Marinker, – to perform accessible productions of some of the most significant plays of the twentieth century.

The members of this ensemble are:
Sergio Amigo; Virginia Byron; Karin Fernald;
Tim Hardy; Michael Howarth;
Oengus MacNamara; Peter Marinker;
Jim McManus; Peter Pacey; Tony Rohr;
and Alison Skilbeck.
(The company is subject to changes and additions.)

The Godot Company also includes John Calder (administrator) with David Wm. Palmer technical advisor, Meckie Offermanns (fundraising) and Karen Wentworth (Alexander Technique advisor) as associate members. Members of the company take turns directing rehearsals. As directorial guides, we have Beckett’s extensive personal production notes for Waiting for Godot including his notes from the production at the Schiller Theatre. Added to this, the fact that his text is so specific, and of course the advantage of John Calder's personal acquaintance with Beckett and his work, all help to steer us in the right direction. The standard is kept high by our experienced and talented cast, all working together and sharing our ideas and observations.
